Dating back to 1640, the Manor House at Fleuret has been lovingly restored, retaining many original features, and offers an extremely spacious home for up to 12 people. Originally a small hamlet, home to 12 families, the magnificent red sandstone buildings are set in acres of meadow and woodlands. With spectacular views all around us, the most memorable is that of the medieval village of Curemonte directly opposite Fleuret on the other side of the valley On the first floor there is a fully fitted kitchen/dining room where original beams and the fireplace have been revealed. The living room boasts a large “Lou Cantou” open fireplace, exposed beams and stone alcoves and is comfortably furnished with two sofas and an armchair. Adjacent to the living room is a double bedroom with en-suite shower-room and toilet. On the second floor there is one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet, as well as one triple, one twin and one single bedroom. A bathroom with bath and toilet is shared between these three rooms. On the ground floor with individual entry is a lovely large twin/double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, ideal for friends or grandparents who would like a bit of extra space The huge 14 x 7 metre swimming pool is situated next to the barn, the upper floor of which has been converted into a large games room with table tennis, table football and pool table. Fleuret is 3km from the mediaeval village of Curemonte and 30km from Brive-la-Gaillarde. A comfortable days drive from the main channel ports, we offer ferry and euro tunnel discounts to all our guests. The village of Curemonte dates back to the 11th century and has been honoured with the title of “L’un des plus beaux villages de France”. Despite its numerous attractions (3 Chateaux, 3 churches and a market hall), it remains very much a working village, with a post office, bar/tabac ,three restaurants and weekly produce market in the summer months. Just 9km from the Dordogne river, we are within easy reach of the many attractions of the Upper Dordogne Valley For larger groups you might consider renting our cottage as well, sleeping another 4 people. The owners live in the third house on the property and are happy to help with any questions during your stay. We are happy to offer welcome hampers, pre- cooked meals, maid service and babysitting to ensure your visit with us as relaxing as possible.
